The "Virtual Silk Highway" NATO Science committee project in Turkmenistan
Main object of "Virtual Silk Highway" project is making availability of teaching staff and collaborators of scientific-research organizations under the universities of the Central Asia and the Caucasus to world educational data basis and create conditions to knowledge exchange. Accordingly the project conditions each country participant get the modern satellite technologies and equipment and free communicational service and linking up to European research network.
The Decree of the President of Turkmenistan ¹6154 by March 3, 2003 has promoted to successful achievement "Virtual Silk Highway" NATO Science committee project in Turkmenistan, where fixed the rule of its shipment.
For implementation on realization VSH project in Turkmenistan the Supreme Council on science and technology under the President of Turkmenistan has been appointed a project coordinator in Turkmenistan.
The science-educational network has been established for project realization in April 2003.
Achievement the "Virtual Silk Highway" project in Turkmenistan permitted:
- to create in contry the basis for national science-educational network development;
- to achieved the object determined by the President of Turkmenistan on wide using of modern world science progress in national economy sphire;
- to raise educational and scince reserch quality;
- to exchange science knowleges and virtual colaborate with learneds of Europa, Asia and USA contries.
Turkmen science-educational network successful cooperates with others international organizations, particularly with Europe (Tacis-Tempus programs) and UNDP in question of further widening national science-educational network.
